FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Straight answers about how requests work, who contacts you, & what we are & aren't.

GENERAL

Does it cost anything to submit a request?

No. Submitting a request is free & carries no obligation.

Are you a lender or an insurance agency?

No. Total Source Marine Partners is not a lender, insurance agency or agent, service contract provider, charity or tax advisor. Requests are reviewed by licensed third-party providers, who set their own pricing & terms. We have the industry knowledge to gather top lenders for our premium clients.

Can I request more than one service at once?

Yes. Financing & refinancing go through our financing partner's secure forms. Insurance & extended warranty each have a short quote request. Cash offers & donations go through our request form. You can use more than one, & most buyers need financing & insurance before the same closing date.

Do you work outside Florida?

Yes. Availability depends on the provider & on where you & the boat are located.

Is my boat too old or too small?

Submit it. Each provider sets its own limits on age, size & value.

FINANCING & INSURANCE

Will pre-qualifying or submitting a request affect my credit?

No. Pre-qualifying online uses a soft credit pull, which does not affect your credit score, & submitting a request involves no credit check. A lender may ask your permission for a full credit check later in the process.

Who runs the pre-qualification & online application?

Our financing partner, Diverse Offerings Finance, on secure 700Credit forms. Financing & refinancing requests go through them. Total Source Marine Partners does not make credit decisions. Pre-qualify · Apply online

Why don't you list rates?

Rates & terms depend on your credit, the boat, the loan amount & the lender. Any number posted here might be incorrect for each person. The licensed provider who reviews your request gives you real, customized figures.

Do I need insurance before I close on a boat loan?

Lenders typically require proof of insurance before closing. Start your insurance request at the same time as financing. Get an insurance quote

What's the difference between insurance & an extended warranty?

Insurance covers sudden loss: collisions, storms, theft & liability. An extended warranty covers mechanical & electrical breakdown after the factory warranty ends. More on extended warranties

SELLING & DONATING

How fast is a cash offer?

It depends on the boat & how quickly an inspection can be scheduled. Complete details & good photos shorten the review.

Can I sell a boat that still has a loan on it?

Yes. The loan is paid off from the sale proceeds at closing.

Can I donate a boat that doesn't run?

Often, yes. The charity decides what it accepts.

How much can I deduct for a donated boat?

If you claim more than $500, the deduction is generally limited to what the charity sells the boat for, as shown on Form 1098-C. How the deduction works
